Jewel in a small Town

There is a jewel of a place in the small town of Fruitville, Tx. They simply call themselves "The Jammers".....and sure know how to have fun on what some people may call the slow day of the week....Monday. They meet in the Fire Station, bringing their instruments and enough food to feed a small army. Their voices may be a little rusty in some areas but their song are from their hearts and they sure can make music.
They have a break at half time, pray for each others needs, sing "Happy Birthday" and then have a meal together and enjoy each others company. They resume their music and songs for a little longer and then its over for another week.
You might ask why is this such a big deal......it goes on at other places. Well.......are the people who are doing this in....... "other places".......the age of these people, I think not. To say they are retired .....is to put it mildly....they have have been retired for many, many years.....YES, they are older...in some peoples eyes.....but not in their hearts. They may walk slower, sing softer, and not see as far as they used to but they are contributing in a way that should take place all over the world. Yes, this is a jewel in itself that I wish I could take with me when I have to leave this area and travel on.
