The "Jammers" had a "Spaghetti Dinner" and an auction. There were crafty things, home made pies, cakes, brownies and more, and tickets to various events and places. They played for an hour (top picture), we had prayer (one of the best I have heard) and then we ate before the auction.
Here you see in the lower picture, the ladies getting the food ready. It was very good with many other tasty items beside the spaghetti, garlic bread and salad.
The auction began and it was so much fun. We saw a "Mississippi Mud" cake go for $35.00 and a "Apple Cake with Pecans" go for #30.00. A pie or bread brought in only $25.00 each.
It was a fun filled evening with very loving people who just wanted to help out a fellow musician with his medical bills. He had a heart attack and while at the hospital found out he has prostate cancer. They collected $650.00 for him. By the way he was there ......played his guitar & sang.
I wish they would start places like this one in every county in the U.S. It would sure combate depression in the elderly. They care for each other and they go to different churches.
We even had an apple pie given to us and the lady who had bought it herself had just celebrated her 55 wedding anniversity 3 weeks ago. She just simply said to us......"Welcome to Texas" She had come to our table last week and talked with us for a while and found out we were from Ohio. We will miss this place and these people.
